Kazakhstan visa-free entry

Starting from January 2017, Kazakhstan will introduce a visa-free entry for the citizens of the member-states of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and 14 economically developed and politically stable countries such as Australia, Hungary, Italy, Monaco, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Malaysia, UAE, Singapore, UK, USA, Germany, Finland, France, Switzerland, Japan and South Korea.

According to Kazakh Ministry of Investments and Development, every year a number of visitors to Kazakhstan from Russia, Turkey, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA and the UK is growing.

Domestic tourism is also gaining momentum. In the first half of the year, growth of domestic tourism totaled 6% compared to last year.

Popular tourism destinations are Burabay resort, Almaty city, Lake Alakol and Bukhtarma River. Improved infrastructure is boosting the development of tourism industry.

Thus, according to the Kazakh ministry, the number of hotels is increasing across the country. Last year, the Kazakhstani hotels rendered worth 73 billion tenge. According to experts, ahead of the major events such as Expo-2017 and the Universiade-2017, tourist flow is expected to increase. As part of the preparation to the world’s fair, 73 tourist routes and trails are being developed by the industry experts.
