UNESCO named Qvevri winemaking method as world's intangible cultural heritage in 2013. Georgia is continuously making wines with this ancient technique, in clay pots buried under the ground for last 8000 years.

Country with longest unbroken winemaking culture is rich with cave towns and castles full of ancient wine artefacts.

Wine tourism has been on rise for last few years, more and more vineyards are planted artisan winemakers emerge historical Chateau's are restored and beautiful new ones are built offering various activities including Wine Spa treatments etc.

Artisan winemakers working with Qvevri method are more and more recognised by wine lovers and restaurateurs not only in Georgia but far beyond Lagvinari is a good example

Presentation is followed by tasting wines from artisan winnery LAGVINARI

Lagvinari is a small, organic winery in Georgia, founded by Doctor Eko Glonti. He works closely with local, artisan grape growers and use both indigenous grape varieties and ancient winemaking techniques, to promote sustainable Georgian farming and preserve its rich cultural heritage.

Lagvinari at the moment is listed in many top end and Michelin star restaurants in London- Sketch, Connought Hotel, Pollen Street, Tom Aikens, Drakes and some more very nice places and of course in all nine Georgian restaurants in London. This wine is in famous HEDONISM wine shop too.
