The Almaty City Department of Tourism, Physical Culture and Sports is an authority that implements government policy in the field of tourism in the city of Almaty, co-ordinates activities of tourist organisations, promotes development and consolidation of their ties. The Department exercises control over the quality of services, development and introduction of promising tourist routes, represents the interests of tourist organisations at international and interregional tourist exhibitions, fairs, conferences, etc., carries out events aimed to create an attractive image of Almaty as an international tourism centre, increase the tourist inflow into the country, and enhance the tourist cluster.
