The Astana City Department for Tourism, Physical Culture and Sports is a structural subdivision of the Astana City Akim Administration. The Department is involved in the development and implementation of the Government policy in the field of tourism. Issues of tourism and sports infrastructure development, and promotion of the capital’s tourist products fall within the competence of the Department. Together with the organisations concerned, the Department maintains international and internal tourist ties, ensures participation in international and national tourist fairs, exhibitions, and sports events. Within its competence, the Department coordinates activities of tourism management authorities.
