The Akmola Oblast Department for Tourism, Physical Culture and Sports coordinates tourist activities in the territory of the Akmola Oblast. The Department is involved in the development and implementation of the Government policy in the field of tourism. Issues of tourism infrastructure development, licensing of tourist activities, and promotion of the region’s tourist products fall within the competence of the Department. Together with the organisations concerned, the Department maintains international and internal tourist ties, ensures participation in international and national tourist fairs and exhibitions, preparation for and holding of regional fairs. Within its competence, the Department coordinates activities of tourism management authorities.
